Aztec High School offers Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) that give students opportunities to take what they’re learning beyond the classroom and put it into action!

Through Career & Technical Student Organizations, students can get hands-on experience, build leadership skills, compete, travel, connect with professionals, build their resumes, and explore careers they may be interested in.

At AHS, students can get involved with HOSA, SkillsUSA, Educators Rising, and FFA—each offering a different way for students to learn, grow, and gain real-world experience.

This morning, students from Aztec High School’s Educators Rising visited McCoy Avenue Elementary and spent time learning alongside our youngest Tigers!

Educators Rising is a student organization that helps high school students explore careers in education and prepare for future roles as teachers. During their visit, these future educators had the opportunity to work with elementary students, participate in classroom activities, and get a glimpse of what it’s like to be in the classroom.

We love seeing our future educators in action! A big thank you to McCoy Avenue Elementary for welcoming them.

Next week, September 21–25, our schools will be joining schools across the country for Start With Hello Week, an annual initiative from Sandy Hook Promise focused on building connection, belonging, kindness, and inclusion.

Each of our schools is putting its own spin on the week, with spirit days, activities, and opportunities for students to make connections and help everyone feel welcome. Check out the slides to see what’s happening at your child’s school!

The Aztec American Indian Office held its annual Miss and Mr. Aztec High School Pageant on Thursday, September 10, at the AHS MPR.

Congratulations to Ayasha Yellow, Miss Aztec HS, and Dahntay Haceesa, Mr. Aztec HS, for the 2026-2027 school year! They will represent the Aztec Native community throughout San Juan County.

Thank you for sharing your talents through drawing, athletic abilities, memorization, and showcasing the Dine’ (Navajo) culture. We are proud of all your hard work and dedication!

A special shoutout to our outgoing Miss Aztec HS, Sierra Murphy, for doing a tremendous job representing our school and community this past school year.
