Aztec High School students had a unique opportunity this week as the Be Pro Be Proud truck visited campus, bringing with it a state-of-the-art mobile workshop designed to showcase high-demand, high-wage careers in the skilled trades.
Inside the interactive trailer, students explored hands-on simulations in industries such as welding, robotics, commercial driving, electrical work, and more. The experience gave students a firsthand look at professional paths that don’t require a traditional four-year college degree but offer excellent career potential and job security.
“This visit was a fantastic way to get students thinking about their futures and the many opportunities available to them,” said school staff. “It’s one thing to hear about a career in a classroom—it’s another to actually get to experience it.”
The Be Pro Be Proud initiative is a nationwide effort to connect students with essential careers and skilled trades through interactive learning and career awareness. The New Mexico branch of the program is helping to close the skills gap in our state by engaging students early and helping them envision a clear, attainable path to success.
