2019-2020 Spotlight

AHS Staff Slide presentation

NMSBA Student Achievement

Each school year the School Board presents the Excellence in Student Achievement Award. This is presented to a staff member that goes beyond and is making a difference for our students. Last year we did not get to make the presentation, as we would normally have done in May. In June and July there were also issues, so we had to wait until August to make the presentations. There were two individuals we recognized for this and both are the reason this award exists.

We want to congratulate Rachel and Grant Banash as the Recipients of the 2018-2019 -New Mexico School Boards Association Excellence in Student Achievement Award for our District.

We cannot thank them enough for what they do our for students and staff.  I know they are not ones to talk about their achievements, and truth be known, will not like that this email was sent to everyone in the district, but both of them deserve this award.  Please congratulate them next time you see them.

We are proud of you and so glad your family is a part of our Aztec Family.

AwardBen Lujan Award for the State of New Mexico

Hats off to our incredible maintenance, custodial and grounds department for receiving the top award at the Ben Lujan Award Ceremony for the State of New Mexico!  This is set on size classifications.  The rating is based off our efficiency in how we spend our Mill Funding and how we take care of our facilities and preventative maintenance and other criteria.  Director Mr. Grant Banash also received the Plant Manager of the Year award.  Congratulations to Mr. Banash and your great staff!

At a Girl

The PED spent time this summer with some major revisions of the Gifted Manual for Gifted students across our great state.  As part of this important work our very own Neily Snook was a credited contributor.

Thank you Neily, we are proud of you and appreciate your thoughtful contributions and work.

Marie Fatte and Kamryn Hamilton two of our Natural Helpers presented to the Board on October 10, 2019.  Thank you for all you do for the students and Koogler Middle School.
