KMS Student Council Honors

The Koogler Middle School Student Council was awarded the following honors at the New Mexico Association of Student Councils (NMASC) 2010 conference in February, 2010:

Delegate’s Choice – Scrapbook of the Year

Judge’s Choice – Scrapbook of the Year

Delegate’s Choice – Project of the Year / Pennies for Patients

Delegate’s Choice – Banner of the Year

Delegate’s Choice – 2010 NMASC Council of the Year

Recognition for “Loving, Caring Sharing’ Week projects (this included Circle of Love – fund raiser for foster children):

  • 'Handsome’ Tree – gloves, mittens, caps scarves for needy children
  • ‘Biggest Loser’ fund raiser
  • 'Holiday Whobilation’ – annual holiday food drive for Aztec Fire Department food bedding supplies for Aztec Animal Shelter)

2010 NMASC Exemplary Council of the Year –the only exemplary award given in both middle high school level

Recognition certificates for hosting 5 student-led workshops 1 adviser-led workshop

2010 NMASC Middle Level Platinum Council of the Year – Koogler’s 9th State championship

AHS Tiger Shack Solar Panel Project

Aztec High School students, Dominic Good and Raymond Kleinegger, with Ms. Coates, Mr. Kraemer and Mr. Gerry after presenting details on the AHS Tiger Shack Solar Panel Project to the Aztec Board of Education. The project provided solar power to the school store as a part of a $10,000 BP Energy Grant


AHS Senior Ethan Mitchell Completes Merrion Oil and Gas Engineering Mentorship Program

AHS' Matthew Hegarty being scouted by top schools
