MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Aztec Municipal School District, as an innovative partnership with our community, is to ensure that all students develop a strong educational foundation, demonstrate a commitment to learning, strengthen their moral character, and become responsible citizens through instructional programs that challenge and inspire excellence in a safe and caring environment.
 
BELIEF STATEMENTS
  • The family is the primary influence in the development of the individual.

GOALS AND INDICATORS
Goal One
1) High Academic Achievement
a) All schools will meet or exceed their Adequate Yearly Progress target in Language Arts in the “All Students” category as measured by the NMSBA.
i) McCoy, Lydia Rippey and Park Avenue Elementary Schools – 73% Proficient 
ii) Koogler Middle School – 53% Proficient 
iii) Aztec and Vista Nueva High Schools – 68% Proficient 
b) All schools will meet or exceed their Adequate Yearly Progress target in Math in the “All Students” category as measured by the NMSBA.
i) Elementary Schools – 51% Proficient 
ii) Koogler Middle School – 35% Proficient 
iii) Aztec and Vista Nueva High Schools – 52% Proficient

Goal Two
2) Safe Learning Environments
All schools will meet or exceed a 95% positive response rate to the NM PED Quality of Education Survey Question Number One: My child is safe at school.

Goal Three
3) All work units across the district will use a P-D-S-A continuous improvement approach and quality tools to support achievement of the district goals as measured by the number of successfully completed PDSA cycles per year on identified key indicators.
